Trouble shooting closed contour issue in part editor

There was a question asked on thermwood’s forum by David. He was attempting to make a radius corner for a cabinet with a display cube but couldn't get the part editor to cooperate. He followed the instructions from the help manual for creating a radius cabinet to a tee but every time he tried and cut the geometry of the two closed contours it Saied that either the contours aren't closed or that there are intersecting lines. One time it let him cut one side of the shape but not the other. It doesn't seem to be consistent.
Well, I reproduced this problem and found a solution so check it out.
