Regenerative urban farming, as a precise micro operation, plays a crucial role in solving many of today’s issues. Urban farms can be instrumental tools for communities to create durable bonds and stronger neighborhoods, to enable families to put healthy home-grown food on the table, to contribute to a circular economy and answer questions of identity and belonging.
This side event will present a selection of projects, designed and implemented by Greening the Camps in Jordan, to illustrate the achieved results and the possibilities of small scale urban farms - to re-empower communities in refugee camps. The event will zoom in on design methodology, based on permaculture, to design and implement urban farms, illustrating the opportunities and difficulties in every step on the way to create a successful urban farming project.
This WFF side event was organized by Greening the Camps.
