Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City is excited to offer this sharp 1961 Ford Fairlane 500 for sale. It is turn key and ready to go with only about 400 miles on the 406 V8 engine since being rebuilt. This car has the big body luxury feel with the get up and go of a Classic American Muscle car. For 1961, Ford smoothed the sides of the Fairlane 500. The designers also shortened and angled the fins, starting at the front door handles and flowing back to the rear end of the car. An additional cut-line was placed on the front fenders, ending at a smooth driver’s side door. The front end was also less elaborate, making the car substantially smoother. Emphasizing the space-age look, the taillights went to the round jet-engine look along with the rest of the Ford line. Large, roomy, and pleasantly styled, the 1960 and 1961 Ford Fairlane 500 is surprisingly rare today, though the variety of configurations mean that there is likely a Fairlane 500 to fit virtually any need if it can be found. The overall paint and body of this ’61 is in great condition and shines bright in the sun. The red paint makes this ’61 Ford have an aggressive appearance. The custom black vinyl interior show minor wear and look great. All the chrome trim, door handles, and bumpers still shine with a mirror like finish. This car has the perfect mix of classic car feel with more updated hot rod style. The dash seems to be original except for the extra gauges and steering wheel.
