Soldier Pass Trail, Sedona Arizona | Hidden Caves and 7 Sacred Pools

Описание: We did the Soldier Pass Trail in Sedona Arizona as our first hike of our EPIC 3 week adventure out west! This trail did not disappoint and was one of our favorites!

Soldier Pass Trail is a 4.5 mile loop trail with some AMAZING sites to see. You can park at the Soldier Pass Trailhead but it is very limited and can not fit many cars so be sure to arrive very early to get a spot. You can park at the trailhead Monday - Wednesday but cannot on Thursday - Sunday. You will need to use the free Sedona Shuttle service on days where parking is not allowed at the trailhead. Once you begin the hike, the first site you will see is Devil's Kitchen - a MASSIVE sinkhole formed by the collapse of underground caverns.

Next, you will find the 7 Sacred Pools formed into the rock with amazing background views.

As you continue up the trail, you’ll see a turnoff to Soldier Pass Cave and Soldier Arch which takes you right up to the cave. Some rock scrambling was needed to get up in the cave so be careful if you have never rock scrambled before. The trail becomes steeper as you get closer to the cave.

This is a popular area for jeeps to drive on, so be aware of that and make sure to keep an eye out for any wildlife. We saw a GIGANTIC tarantula on our way back to the trailhead.

As you make your way down from the cave and back to the main trail, take a right and continue toward the pass. It will eventually level out and you’ll reach the pass. You can turn around and return the way you came, or continue onto the Brins Mesa Trail.
