Prune To Bonsai, Japanese Maple - February 28, 2026

Описание: Grown from a seedling (around 2020). Inspired by a bonsai Japanese Maple seen in Kyoto - pruning this small Japanese Maple To keep it about 2 to 4 feet tall & wide. It is naturally large so this may not work but definitely interested in trying! Journey started in 2025 and now continuing to 2026.

Goal for 2026 is to keep the height of trunk as is. Try keeping only a few branches from the main trunk at about a node's length at about 8 to 10 inches.
Spring growth will start after this light prune. Will prune after Spring growth is done to encourage summer growth. Not sure if this will work the way I planned.🤔🤔

実生苗から育てました（2020年頃）。京都で見かけた盆栽のカエデにインスピレーションを受け、この小さなカエデを剪定しました。高さと幅は約60～120cmです。もともと大きいので、この剪定ではうまくいかないかもしれませんが、ぜひ試してみたいです！この試みは2025年に始まり、2026年まで続きます。

2026年の目標は、幹の高さを現状維持することです。主幹から数本の枝を節の長さ、約20～25cm程度に伸ばすようにしてみてください。
この軽い剪定の後、春の成長が始まります。春の成長が終わった後、夏の成長を促すために剪定を行います。計画通りにうまくいくかは分かりません。🤔🤔
