This is by far the most complex single trick in Ocarina of Time to my knowledge. To describe it "simply": Get into a precise position and fire off a chu that returns to where you're standing, then get into a different position and fire off another precise chu that will explode near Jabu-Jabu's loading zone. Get a HESS off the first chu in a specific way, and start hoversliding, changing angle mid hoverslide and rolling. Arrive at the clipping spot EXACTLY when the second chu is exploding and megaflip (during the hover) off that second chu, clipping into the ice and hitting the Jabu-Jabu loading zone.
Nothing to it.
This trick is officially nicknamed the "Soltov Slide", though I won't fault you for calling it "Soltov on the Rocks". This current setup is pretty much the best possible with this strategy, taking only 8 frame precise pause buffers. Here is how you do it.
1) Get into the initial position as shown. You can align to a pillar instead of using the angle from entering the zone, and can backflip roll instead of backwalk roll if you prefer. When you jump down to the 'Rock', you have to wait a bit for the roll or the camera will be messed up.
2) Pull out a chu. Pause buffer to the frame after the brightest frame (the first frame the flash gets dimmer). Shield-drop the chu and backflip on that frame (that is, down+Z+R+A).
3) During the backflip, buffer to the first frame you can see the top of Link's shield and pull out a chu on that frame.
4) Shield drop the chu when the chu is almost blue for the first time. This does not require buffering. The last working frame is when the chu is totally blue. Frame Window: 8
5) Do the little setup I do in the video. You can Z target whenever you wish, but leaving Z unpressed for a while lets you see the chu and time the next buffer. The following pause buffer cue will work regardless.
6) Pause buffer to when the chu is in line with the second plank of the wooden fence and roll. After you roll, hold LEFT ess position. I pause buffer the ess for convenience.
7) Buffer to the first frame Link is standing up in the explosion. This is the standard HESS frame. On this frame, hold LEFT ess, Z+R, and you will get a HESS.
8) Advance to the first frame Link moves backwards. Link's left arm will be slightly outside the explosion. Now the hover starts. Equip hover boots. Release Z+R, hold left and advance exactly one frame. If Link is facing left with his arm out, you hit the right frame.
9) Hold down from this point. Pause buffer to the frame where the right side of the Rock passes right through the middle of the B button. (This is 4 frames from the previous).
10) Hold left and roll from the previous frame. Hold Z+R at some point during the start of the roll (8 frame window). You don't have to hold left after the roll starts (doesn't matter). Almost there.
11) Pause on the first frame the pillar appears on the screen. There isn't much of a timing cue, other than maybe the arrow on the minimap. Backflip on this frame (Z+R+A+down). Advance 1-3 frames and switch back to regular Kokiri boots.
12) Welcome to Ocarina of Time!
