Описание: Halides are good, but they can be better. In this video we consider how halides can be activated as leaving groups with silver nitrate, which precipitates them as a salt. We consider how this looks for both SN1 and SN2 pathways. Finally, we think about the role of the nitrate ion and how it is NOT a nucleophile.
