TRANSCRIPT:
I was, I was not fulfilled. I was, I was, I was just tripping over the same rock, again and again, expecting something different. And I was not. Was not getting it. I was not getting a sense of… of goodness, or what I should be doing more, or a sense of giving back. Things like that.
And… and it was… honestly, it was a sense of not being happy.
Had this sense of not pleasing God in a way, and, and so. So I just started, started to pray more, you know. And I started to, you know… the Bible is this great book that that, because it's so big and so magical, we’re scared to dive into it, you know. And I used to go on my rants back when I was younger about, ‘you know, there's an owner’s manual for a toaster, but you don't get an owner's manual for your son or an owner’s manual for your own life’.
And then in the years later, I realised, well, no, there is an owner’s manual, that Bible, if you care, to open it up, which I do. And the funniest thing is, when I read the Bible now, if I… if I read Proverbs, I'm like, ‘oh, boy, if only I would have read that before I got into… this is talking about my problem!! If only I would have read that!!’
Then so, um, so there's a certain comfort. There's a certain comfort of taking myself out of the equation and trying to please God. Now, listen, I'm I'm still, I'm still a sinner, I'm still mortal. But at least I'm working on I'm working on it. Do I slip up? Yeah. Do I… Am I cranky? Do… I do. But when I do something angry, the Lord now doesn't let me stay with it. The Lord goes, ‘Okay, go apologise, or go fix that or do something because this is not helping’. So I’m trying to get better every day.
