with this price range (about $200), this video camera has very nice Image Stabilized Optical Zoom (hand shake correction), and crisp screen.
I would recommend this video camera for you.
As an information, I heard Canon Vixia HF R40, R42 are also same quality as R400.
The biggest differences are only internal memory and wifi function.
