Oldham sealed memorable victory at Watersheddings on Wednesday evening 4th Feb 1987.
Losing 8-4 with just over a minute left, Paddy Kirwan dived over by the posts and Mick Burke kicked the goal and the rest is history.
It would be the last time Wigan lost in the Challenge Cup before they set off on their record breaking run of finals.
