The Stanford Trail and its extension the Clayton-Stanford Trail can be used to connect the Hines Hill Conference Center with Brandywine Falls via the Stanford House. This hike shows this route, and includes a side trail to Averill Pond. This route is probably about 2 miles long, and includes parts of both Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit County Metro Park. The trail is moderately easy in difficulty with some variable terrain.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Northeast Ohio is a true gem. The park follows the Cuyahoga River corridor between Akron and Cleveland, and envelops a broad swath of reclaimed and protected rural and former industrial lands. Within the park are multiple independently managed metro parks, creating a mostly contiguous and interconnected stretch of green space between two of the largest metropolitan urban areas in Ohio.

It was first designated as a National Recreational Area in 1974 and officially became a National Park in 2000. Unlike most National Parks, there are no entrance fees and the space can be enjoyed by anyone free of charge. If you find yourself in this part of the state, be sure to set aside some time to escape to this beautiful wild space.
