This session comes from Brighton selector and hip hop artist DJ Asbest (Asbest The Moor King) — a key figure in Brighton's grassroots music scene. Asbest co-founded Baked Beats open mic over 10 years ago and is part of the Niceness Sound crew. Both platforms helped amplify local hip hop, MCs and DJs across Brighton for years.
Asbest built his name through hip hop culture — spinning golden-era cuts and raw breaks. His sets lean into crate-digging sensibility: dusty drums, heavyweight basslines, and turntable flavour.
This mix taps straight into that side of his sound — old school hip hop, crunchy breaks and electronic beats.
