In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the cow-protection activist and saint Baba Chandrashekhar—popularly known as "Farsa Wale Baba"—died in a road accident. It is reported that Baba was attempting to stop a suspicious vehicle when a truck bearing a Rajasthan registration number, approaching from behind amidst dense fog, struck him; he subsequently came under the wheels of the truck. Following the incident, intense tension gripped the area, and a large number of cow-protection activists and locals gathered at the scene. Refusing to accept the incident as a mere accident, the outraged crowd alleged that it was a premeditated murder. The people asserted that Baba had been deliberately run over by the vehicle. In protest against the incident, the crowd blocked the Delhi-Agra Highway, resulting in long queues of vehicles stretching in both directions and disrupting traffic for several hours. Observing the deteriorating situation at the scene, the police arrived and attempted to pacify the crowd; however, the mob only grew more agitated. The angry protesters raised slogans against the police, and some individuals even began pelting stones. Several police personnel sustained injuries during this altercation. To bring the situation under control, a heavy police force and the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) had to be deployed.

उत्तर प्रदेश के मथुरा में गौ-रक्षक संत बाबा चंद्रशेखर, जिन्हें लोग “फरसा वाले बाबा” के नाम से जानते थे, की सड़क हादसे में मौत हो गई। बताया जा रहा है कि बाबा एक संदिग्ध वाहन को रोकने की कोशिश कर रहे थे, तभी घने कोहरे के बीच पीछे से आ रहे राजस्थान नंबर के ट्रक ने उन्हें टक्कर मार दी और वे ट्रक के नीचे आ गए। इस घटना के बाद इलाके में भारी तनाव फैल गया और बड़ी संख्या में गौ-रक्षक और स्थानीय लोग मौके पर जुट गए। आक्रोशित लोगों ने इसे हादसा मानने से इनकार करते हुए सुनियोजित हत्या का आरोप लगाया। लोगों का कहना था कि बाबा को जानबूझकर गाड़ी से कुचला गया है। घटना के विरोध में लोगों ने दिल्ली-आगरा हाईवे पर जाम लगा दिया, जिससे दोनों ओर वाहनों की लंबी कतारें लग गईं और यातायात कई घंटों तक प्रभावित रहा। मौके पर हालात बिगड़ते देख पुलिस पहुंची और लोगों को समझाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन भीड़ और ज्यादा उग्र हो गई। गुस्साए लोगों ने पुलिस के खिलाफ नारेबाजी की और कुछ लोगों ने पथराव भी शुरू कर दिया। इस दौरान कई पुलिसकर्मी घायल हो गए। स्थिति को संभालने के लिए भारी पुलिस बल और पीएसी को तैनात करना पड़ा।
