Seychelles' highly competitive elections are under way and two candidates out of the eight have captured the attention of voters.
The first is current President Wavel Ramkalawan, who is seeking re-election after serving a first term focused on stabilising the economy, managing the COVID-19 crisis, as well as strengthening democratic institutions.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Patrick Herminie, who has campaigned on a platform of unity, humility, and reform, aims to appeal to voters frustrated with the current administration.
For many in Seychelles, this election represents the battle between continuity and transformation.
