ISE 2025 - Canon - multi-camera orchestration concept

Описание: At ISE 2025, Kohe Maida from Canon introduced the Multi-Camera Orchestration concept, an innovative system designed to allow a single camera operator to control multiple PTZ cameras seamlessly. This technology enables Canon PTZ cameras to synchronize with the movement of a manually operated camera, automatically tracking subjects and adjusting framing in real time.

The system intelligently assigns roles to each PTZ camera, ensuring that different angles and compositions are maintained without manual intervention. For example, while the main camera operator focuses on a speaker, PTZ cameras automatically track and frame additional participants. A wide group shot can be maintained regardless of individual camera movements, with automatic zoom adjustments based on detected positions.

Using an overhead "bird's eye" camera, the system detects subject positions and dynamically adjusts the zoom levels to maintain optimal framing. This approach allows for flexible tracking of multiple people in various room setups, such as boardrooms or panel discussions. The technology is compatible with all Canon PTZ cameras, including the CR-N500 and CR-N700, and even allows for an entirely PTZ-based setup where one camera leads and others follow.

Canon plans to release the Multi-Camera Orchestration system by the end of the year, with no technical limit on the number of cameras but an optimal setup of up to five for a single operator.
