Abstract: Over the last two decades, the astonishing hearing capability of fly Ormia ochracea has been studied, and bio–engineered. However, its limited directional sensing poses challenges in realizing an application performed simultaneously in 3D. This paper introduces a novel array comprising six fly Ormia ochracea’s ears–inspired directional microphones within a microchip. A set of three identical directional microphones are spatially positioned in a phase difference of 120 deg. Their phase difference makes room to perform them independently. The whole microphone array has been simulated, and the results show the capability in realizing audio–motor interaction for various applications.
