It is time to head to the labs and finish this mission, but first, there a couple things left for me to get in both the police station, and the sewers. We get the combination lock in the sewers and are rewarded with some ammo, and we head back to the police station to find the locations in the pictures we found last time, as well as open the safe we have left for this entire game. The locations give us some fuel for our new flamethrower, and a part we can attach to our gun, and an achievement for seeking them out, so it was worth it. We then head back to Ada, and take the rail car down into the NEST lab. Ada says to go on without her, and gives us her bracelet. Not long into the labs, we learn we will need higher clearance to proceed, but are hinted at where we can find our first upgrade. We make our way to the nap room, and fight off some of the dedicated un-dead employees still milling about down here. In the nap room, we get a chip upgrade that will allow us through level two doors. We head out and find a large chamber with branching paths, however the one we need needs a level three upgrade, so we have no choice but to explore the East hallway first. Here, it seems there was a horrible experiment involving plant life taking place. We soon come to learn it was called Plant 42, and it became sentient, attacking some of the workers. Some of these workers are still here, and now transformed into horrifying plant zombies, which do not go down by conventional means. We solve some puzzles using some strange symbols, which leads us to a lower level, where we are attacked by a swarm of zombies, and two lickers, and unfortunately do not make it out of this fight. We decide to regroup and prepare a bit more, and will attempt braving the basement again, next time.
