When Should You Replace Cars Tires? *Worn Tread vs Old Age*

Описание: 👋 Replacing your tires is inevitable when owning a car or truck. So when should you replace the tires on your vehicle? In todays video we talk about the two most common reasons you would have to replace your ties. The most obvious one is when they wear out. Tires have a certain amount of tread depth, and when the tread gets too low, you need new tires. Generally 6/32 inch is the tread depth of a brand new car tire. Once you get to about 2/32 inch your wear strips will be flush and you need new tires. On an all wheel drive car, most of the time you should replace all 4 tires at the same time. Your AWD components are designed to operate with tires of a certain rolling diameter, so you want to stay within the factory ratio in all 4 corners. RWD cars you could get away with just replacing one axle at a time. Tire age is another important reason to replace tires. Most of the time once you hit 6 years old on a set of tires, your car won't pass an inspection. Dry rot can start setting in on old tires and they can become harder over time giving you less grip. If you see signs of dry rot, you absolutely need new tires because they could risk blowing. Of course any damage on your tires is also a sign you should replace them and get a new set. So in todays video we replace the tires on the R8 and Gallardo and gets our dream cars ready to roll for this season of driving! While the R8 had plenty of tread and good age on the front tires. The rears were getting low on tread. Being AWD, it was best to do a full set of tires. The Lamborghini had tires just over 5 years old, so it was getting within a year of needing new tires based on age alone. Even tho the tires only had 5k miles on them, they were aging out. So a brand new set all around was best! Personally we love the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. They grip so well and are the tires we run on all our sportscars. After driving the cars with the new rubber, they grip so much better then before and ride way smoother! Ordering tires from Fitment Industries also makes thing easy!
