Officials and community leaders recently joined together to mark the start of construction on the $152 million Avalon Pedestrian Bridge and Promenade Gateway at the Port of Los Angeles. Located near Banding’s Landing Community Center in Wilmington, the community-focused project will create unprecedented public access to the LA Waterfront via a new signature 380-foot-long bridge, which will connect to 12 acres of new open space for public recreation. The project is expected to completed by late summer 2028.
Participants in this video represent the California State Transportation Agency, City of Los Angeles, Port of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners.
