Day 5 in Meghalaya: Caves, Culture, and the Living Root Bridge! 🌿☁️
Welcome back to the series! Today was easily one of the most diverse days of the trip. From the misty heights of Cherrapunji to the depths of the Garden of Caves, we explored the true heart of the "Abode of Clouds."
📍 Places We Visited Today:
Eco Park: Walking along the edge of the canyons with breathtaking views of the Sylhet plains of Bangladesh.
Ramakrishna Mission: A peaceful stop to learn about the local Khasi culture and the incredible educational work being done in the hills.
Garden of Caves: A hidden gem! We explored natural rock formations, waterfalls, and ancient caves that feel like a movie set.
Living Root Bridge: The highlight of the day. Seeing these ancient, "living" structures grown by the Khasi people is a spiritual experience in itself.
🍴 Where We Ate:
Orange Roots: The perfect spot for a clean, delicious vegetarian meal (highly recommend the Thali!).
Cloud Country: A cozy place to refuel with a view while the mist rolled in.
