Here it is - The Bandit GSF 1250SA'13 with a LeoVince Exhaust.
Bought this machine in March'13. I had a choise out of four models. Harleys, Yamaha FZ1, Honda CB1000R and of course, the Suzuki Bandit.
Harley, wasn't my cup of tea. I preferred the Bandit as it suited my build, age and traffic conditions in India. Superb performance in the city traffic ( 108 Nm of torque kicks in at 3560 rpm as against similar torques kicking in above 7500 or so in a Honda & a Yamaha - meaning more gear shifts in our horrendous traffic conditions - At the same time a stable ride on the highway as well. Super acceleration - 0 to 100 kmph in about 4.2 seconds. It's a sports tourer. What more can an Indian ask for? - Although, sometimes, I feel the upright seating position comes in the way of the wind at speeds above 150 or so. Such times you need to duck and ride - while on a FZ1 or CB 1000R the rider slices through the wind effortlessly at high speeds on account of the riding angle.
Must mention: The stock exhaust was a sore sight. Huge can with no thrills. So, I had to make another choice amongst LeoVince, Akrapovic, Yoshimura and Two Brothers. Trust me: I have heard them all. LeoVince sounds the best. Just what I was looking for. Deep throated sound, not too loud, but enough to turn heads on the street. I love the sound and the ride.
Surprisingly, the Bandit doesn't come with a gear shift indicator. Too bad! So I put in a GIpro gear shift indicator with an ATRE. Very convenient in our traffic conditions - with an added bonus of an 'advance timing retard eliminator', which seems to make a difference in the 'get-away' speed in the lower gears, for sure.
