The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has asked two banks to freeze accounts of TikTok star Hareem Shah till a money-laundering probe is completed against her.

The FIA has launched money-laundering probe against Hareem Shah after a video of her claiming to have travelled abroad with a large sum of money went viral recently.

In a recent development, the investigation agency has written letters to the banks, where the TikTok star owns the accounts, to freeze the accounts till inquiry is completed.

Fizza Hussain aka Hareem Shah holds two bank accounts in Pakistan—one in Lahore and other in Karachi.

Shah had traveled from Karachi International Airport to Doha on the night of January 10.

Hareem Shah, the controversial social media sensation who gained recognition from TikTok, has definitely mastered the art to remain in the headlines.

Recently, the TikToker sat down for an interview with her husband, Bilal Shah, for the first time and detailed how she fell in love with him.

Bilal Shah gets candid about his wife and said that Hareem is a gift from the Almighty as a result of the prayers of his parents.

He also revealed that the controversial star is allowed to make any scandal and he has allowed her to do so.

Bilal said, “I thank God for giving me a perfect wife. Hareem is good-looking, caring, and sincere.” He went on to add, “She is the reward of my parents’ prayers. It was only their prayers that I am blessed with such a good life partner. I thank God a million times.”

“To this day, Hareem has not done anything that would make me hang my head in shame. From the day I married Hareem till today, she has not let me down. She is foolish; she quickly trusts everyone. So, I tell her that to work on this habit of hers,” he added saying that he had given the freedom to Hareem and did not restrict her.

On the other hand, revealing the characteristics of her husband, Shah said, “I did not like men who take drugs and smoke and Bilal does not smoke. Ho doesn’t do drugs, and he does not gossip about anyone; he does not speak nonsense.”

Earlier this year, Hareem Shah caused a tumult as the news of her marriage spread like a wildfire on the internet. Probing into the puzzle, it still remains unsolved as the identity of her groom remains hidden.

She had also shared photos of the wedding dress and bridal make-up on Instagram on June 23 but did not caption the photos.

Following the photos, news of their engagement and marriage spread on social media, but now the private TV channel website has confirmed that the TikTok star has confirmed the marriage

Auditors have found irregularities in hiring of a British law firm for collecting evidence against MQM’s exiled leader Altaf Hussain in the Dr Imran Farooq murder case, which resulted in a Rs24.43 million loss to the exchequer.

This was revealed by the Auditor General of Pakistan in a report tabled during a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Thursday.

During the meeting, PAC member Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed asked the interior ministry to explain the purpose for which the law firm was hired.

Interior secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar said the British law firm was hired in connection with the Dr Imran Farooq murder case in which Altaf Hussain was a suspect.
He said the law firm was required to collect certain record and coordinate with the British authorities in the matter.

British law firm M/s Guernica 37 International Justice Chambers, United Kingdom, was one of the sources of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) which also probed the money trail of the properties of the Sharif family pursuant to the judgement of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.

PAC informed process caused Rs24.4m loss to exchequer

As per the audit report submitted to the PAC, under the guidelines laid down by the law ministry on June 3, 2015 “every government department or semi-government or public corporate body shall seek concurrence of the law, justice and human rights division for engagement of lawyer where professional fee exceeds Rs0.3 million”.
