NOAA's CCOR-1 satellite captured this INSANE Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the far side of the Sun on October 21, 2025! This is a blast of pure solar powforecast.
The eruption came from the powerful Active Region 4246 just after it rotated out of view from Earth. Being on the far side meant Earth was safe from this massive burst of plasma and magnetic fields. This NOAA CCOR-1 instrument is our first operational, space-based coronagraph to support space weather forecasting.
