There is a terrible secret hiding under Akira’s Olympics. In the Akira movie, spoiler alert, the Olympic Stadium is literally built on the remains of a human weapon named Akira. But in reality, this seems to mirror Japan’s own connection to the Olympics–one of horror and rebirth.
