The Bloods' poor away form from last season has seemingly carried over into the new season, as a second loss of the season saw Garstang pick up the 3 points by the Riverside.

In a rather eventless first half, Droylsden slightly had the better of proceedings, but in all honesty, neither side threatened the opposition keepers.

The second half got off to the best possible way for the home side, as Player of the Match, Luke Draysey fired a low drive from the edge of the box, which beat Droylsden Keeper Greg Hall to his right.

With just over an hour played, and the rain driving down, the away team levelled the score up as Nellson Van fired in his 2nd goal of the season from the edge of the box, with the help of a deflection which took the ball over the keeper's head, and into the top left corner of the Garstang goal.

The home side took the lead again with 20 minutes to go, when Draysey scored his and Garstang's second, with another low strike, disappointingly beating Hall at his near post.

The Bloods pushed for another equaliser, but couldn't find the finishing touch... the story of the season so far, as the home side ran out 2-1 winners.

The Bloods are back at the Butchers next Saturday, with the visit of Squires Gate, whilst Garstang are at home again, this time facing new boys Fulwood Amateurs.
