Lattice Boltzmann Simulation written in Python, visualized using matplotlib via Sage (sagemath.org). All this software is free and open source.
Basically Red represents one fluid and Blue the other. The two fluids are initially randomly mixed. They proceed to separate, like oil and water. Surface tension tends to minimize the length of the interface between the two fluids.
The simulation uses the Shan-Chen model [X.Shan and H.Chen, http://dx.doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevE.47...] to model the separation of two fluids (e.g. oil and water), which are initially randomly mixed.
100x100 lattice, d2q9 LBM with BGK collision operator.
