In this episode of RescuingRoy, Darren tackles a key milestone in the rebuild of the ultra-rare Vauxhall Royale Coupé. The final section of the driver’s side inner wing is welded in, completing a major structural repair. With fabrication and welding out of the way, seam sealer is applied to critical joints for long-term corrosion protection, followed by cavity wax, schutz and a fresh layer of primer to seal everything in.
Next up: attention shifts to the outer wing. After a thorough rust treatment and some adjustment work, the panel is carefully aligned and refitted — bringing the car one step closer to looking like a Royale again.
And to wrap things up, there’s a bit of bonus electrical tinkering (or "faffing," as Darren calls it) — because no restoration is complete without chasing a few mystery wires.
