Pharmacists who treat diabetes and chronic conditions

Описание: More than 34 million people have diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the US. Pharmacists play a vital role in treating diabetes and other chronic diseases as medication experts. Hear from Denise Walbrandt Pigarelli, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy and an ambulatory care pharmacist with a clinical practice in the Diabetes Clinic at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.

PharmD students at UW–Madison learn from leading practicing pharmacists, like Dr. Pigarelli. As a primary care clinical pharmacist, she works with patients with diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. As a professor, she teaches students in the latest in patient care.
