On this episode, Lamaroc catches up with Mimi: "House the Feels" curator, cultivator and passionate advocate for House dance and culture in Melbourne, Australia.

Filmed in Fitzroy before her departure to Amsterdam to pursue her career in UX Design (User Experience), Miaka discusses her work in the industry working for Telstra and her transition to TomTom in Europe.

They discuss the role new technologies can play in the dance community, from it's use in dance events to judge dancers and the objective for Mimi to simplify things inspired from her experiences in UX.

She highlights the importance of "Experience", and how to grasp that away from the selfishness of "What can I get out of it?" as opposed to "What do people want to get out of it?" Together they reminisce events from the previous decade and the reason for what drove them to create their own events based on their experiences overseas.

Slowly they unearth the realisations, the epiphanies and the inability to explain why they did what they did that they began to paint a picture of what the future may look like with their ideas.

Slowly they transition into their experiences with jotting down ideas and the reasons for writing in "black books" and their various purposes. From the therapy of journalling your feelings through emotional times, to the safe-keeping of ideas for future events. Managing the data written, whether physically or digitally, our casters delve into the discipline required to do so in an organised way despite the chaotic minds and practices of artists and the existence within that paradox.

Delving deeper, Mimi shares how her one way trip to Amsterdam was a catalyst for not meticulously planning every step of the way as she may have done in the past but because the nature of relocating herself through what she identified as a calling from the Universe.

Diving deep into more spiritual aspects, Mimi divulges in following her heart by going with the flow, opening up into where a calling may take you, the challenging of beliefs by major life occurences and the philosophies and conflicting values that encourage Spiritual Growth... most especially within the culture of House Music and House Dance.
