If you have leftover soil from old pots or containers, DON’T throw it away. I’ll show you how to revive it, amend it, and reuse it to grow delicious food again — perfect for Zone 9B, beginners, and small space gardeners.

SOIL MIX (per 5 gallons):
• 2 cups compost
• 1 cup worm castings
• 1–2 cups perlite or coarse sand
• Optional: slow-release fertilizer + bone meal
CARROT REQUIREMENTS:
• 6+ hours of sun
• Loose soil
• 10–12 inch deep bed/container
SALAD GREEN REQUIREMENTS:
• 4–6 hours of sun
• Partial shade OK
• Shallow containers work great
