In this video I visit The George Inn, one of the oldest pubs in London and the last surviving galleried coaching inn in the city.

Before trains and cars existed, travellers would arrive here by horse-drawn stagecoach, staying overnight before continuing their journey across England. Most of these inns disappeared long ago — but this one is still standing today.

First we take a look at the fascinating history of this incredible building, which dates back to the 1600s, before sitting down to try a traditional Christmas roast lunch inside one of London’s most historic pubs.
