Pumps: GPH vs Horsepower

Описание: If you've tried sizing a pump, you might have noticed that past a certain flow rate, you can't find pumps rated in flow rate. (Read the whole article here: https://university.upstartfarmers.com...) They're only rated for the power of the motor (in horsepower). This can be confusing since your water-movement needs are measured in GPH!

GPH (gallons per hour) and horsepower are talking about similar things. Horsepower is the power of the motor, and gallons per hour is the amount of water that the pump can move.

GPH ratings are used for smaller submersible pumps.

Horsepower ratings are used for inline pumps like pool pumps (which are what we use in our aquaponic and hydroponic systems).
