As the Chief of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Columbia University, Andrew Kung, MD, PhD, utilizes his clinical expertise is in pediatric hematology and oncology and pediatric bone marrow transplantation to help treat childhood cancer.
Dr. Kung's research is centered on understanding basic mechanisms contributing to cancer, and the development of anti-tumor therapies. He also works on drug discovery, tumor-specific transcription, animal tumor models, in vivo imaging, stem cell biology and the development of anti-tumor therapeutics based on disrupting tumor-specific signal transduction. In addition, Dr. Kung has served as a Consultant at a pharmaceutical company, biotech companies, and start-ups.
