Tools you need:

• Spray bottle with water
• Optional: Hair comb

Step 1: Dampen your hair with the spray bottle. Comb your hair down so it is lying straight.

Step 2: Use the #2 guide comb and start cutting away the hair in front of the ears. Work your way around the back of the head to the neckline. Use constant strokes upwards, against the grain.

Step 3: Next, cut the top. Switch to the #8 guide comb to keep a longer length on top. Cut from the front to back with smooth, even strokes. Going against the grain will give your hair a textured look.

Step 4: Switch back to the #4 guide comb. Cut with a rocking motion to blend everything together. Then, use the #6 closer to the top for a more gradual blend.

Step 5: Clean up around your ears, sideburns, and neckline with the inverted clipper technique.
