Every broadcast opened with a distorted music box playing the first bars of a simple popular melody, then moved on to long sequences of numbers delivered in a cold, deliberately childlike synthetic female tone generated by the Sprach Morse Machine, widely used by the Stasi.
Shifting frequencies, rigid schedules, and near-flawless execution gave G02 an almost unnerving professionalism.

Thanks to documents declassified by the Polish government in 2008, we now know that the Ministry of State Security and its successors managed these transmissions to send encrypted messages to agents in the West. This documentary delves into the origins, operation, and legacy of Swedish Rhapsody, exploring its fascination for dedicated listeners and its pivotal role in the intelligence landscape of the twentieth century.
