About Mr Rajiv Bajekal:

Mr Rajiv Bajekal completed his medical schooling in JIPMER, Pondicherry and his MS in Orthopaedics from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.

He came to the UK in 1992 and worked in Norwich as a basic surgical trainee for the Royal Free/ RNOH Registrar/Senior Registrar rotation and completed his MCh from Liverpool as an external candidate. He obtained a Consultant post with Doncaster/Bassetlaw NHS trust in 1998 but left to pursue his current post at Barnet, where his wife Nitu Bajekal also practises as a consultant gynaecologist.

Mr Bajekal has an interest in sciatica and back pain. He has developed a pragmatic approach to managing back pain and sciatica with non-surgical techniques, injections and minimally invasive techniques. He regularly performs discectomy, decompressions and spinal fusions by minimally invasive techniques and is a highly skilled surgeon.

He maintains his skills in General Orthopaedics and trauma and has a hip and knee practice. He is committed to patient and medical education and has a very busy NHS Practice at Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust (Barnet)
