2025 NY Transit Museum Holiday Train (Including trip down the Queens Boulevard line)

Описание: Once again, the museum train of R1/9 type cars ran on Sundays in December. This year, the train operated from 2nd Av in lower Manhattan, up the 6th Av line to Lexington Avenue 63rd St, and then on the Q up to 96th St.

I captured the train at several locations along the route, as well as onboard footage on the run up the Queens Boulevard Line.

On the last uptown trip of the day, the train was run not onto the Q line to 96th St, but straight down the F on the Queens Boulevard line. The train ran on the express tracks as far as Jackson Heights, before switching onto the local tracks on the run to Forest Hills where the run was ended. The train ran express on the local, skipping all stops despite operating on the local track. The train then ran to Kew Gardens where it was turned, then returned back to Forest Hills to reenter service. It then ran back to 2nd Av.

Thank you to the New York Transit Museum for their efforts in organizing these events, and thank you to the MTA for allowing these pieces of history to run on the main line. And of course, thank you to those who work in the shops to keep these living relics running smoothly, as well as those on the ground helping to run the event.
