Описание: We toured up Summit Mountain in the Summit Lake area to check out surface conditions and the state of the weak layers near the ground. We did not get any concerning results in our snow pit at 2,400’, but the structure is still poor with several weak layers of facets buried 3’ below the surface in this area. We think it’s unlikely the weight of a person could trigger these layers at this point. The wind was blowing snow at the upper elevations and this is the main concern in Summit right now. Hopefully Summit will get a refresh of snow soon as the surface conditions are firm!
