How We Pick the Perfect Scene for Every Actor

Описание: The script analysis scene study class is where actors dive into film and television material in a focused and creative way. Taught by me and Tom Lenoci, it meets Tuesdays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 12:00 PM at The Acting Project in North Hollywood. Each student works solo on one character and one carefully chosen scene, giving them a true audition style experience. We do not try to cover every side. Instead, we pick one piece and go deep so the actor can make strong choices and bring the story to life.
One of the best parts of teaching this class is selecting the material. Tom Lenoci is a huge help in cataloging and archiving the hundreds of scenes we have built over the years, and together we spend time matching each actor with a scene that fits their goals or challenges them to stretch. Sometimes we cast them in something unexpected because growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone.
