This beautiful Partita was composed by the Finland composer Einojuhani Rautavaara (1928 - 2016), it was conceived for solo guitar, but then, as well as Martin did for his four pieces for guitar, he transposed the Partita for solo piano. This means how Rautavaara held in good consideration this piece, indeed is a stunning small composition which makes richer the contemporary guitar repertoire!
The particularity of this composition is that the whole piece is based only on one theme which is arranged in different ways during the three movements, the partita is indeed divided in three movements named simply as I, II and III.
