Well, I simply couldn't find Zugló. It was wild. Everywhere I looked, Zugló wasn't. I found herminamező, I found Törökőr, I found Alsórákos, I even found Nagyzugló and Kiszugló, but no Zugló!!! That was until a friendly couple of Zuglóvians informed me that all of district XIV is in fact Zugló. Duh! Well, despite the revelation of my idiocy I was glad for the news as this meant the whole domain was there to explore. And explore we did. We took a trip around Bosnyak Tér, stopped by the famous market (which is apparently closing next year!!! egy tragikus!!! ), we met friendly locals, ran around like a lunatic criss crossing Fat Louie street, downed a fröccs at the Oazis Söröző, gathered our wits, roamed the streets, popped through the stunning Japanese Garden, downed a Sacher Torta, and finished things off with a liter of beer at the Ypsilon Cafe. I have to say, Zugló is a great god damn place. I can't believe it took me so long to properly explore. Thank you so much everyone, you inspire me to do what I love. I'm not crying, you're crying ....
Are you ready to discover a hidden gem in the heart of Hungary? Look no further than Zugló, a vibrant district that is sure to surprise and delight you at every turn.
First things first, let's address the elephant in the room - Zugló can be a little tricky to find. In fact, when I first arrived in the area, I couldn't find it anywhere! But after chatting with some friendly locals, I learned that Zugló is actually an entire district, XIV to be exact. And let me tell you, there's a lot to explore here.
One of the highlights of my trip to Zugló was exploring the Bosnyak Tér market, which is a must-visit for any foodie. From traditional Hungarian dishes to international cuisine, the market offers a tantalizing array of flavors and aromas that will leave your taste buds begging for more. Just make sure you visit soon, as I was informed that the market will be closing next year - egy tragikus, indeed.
As I wandered through the streets of Zugló, I couldn't help but be struck by the stunning architecture that surrounds you at every turn. From ornate buildings to cozy cafes, there's no shortage of sights to take in. And while the district is certainly bustling, with locals going about their daily lives, it also has a laid-back vibe that is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of larger cities.
But perhaps the best part of my trip to Zugló was connecting with the locals. From friendly couples to groups of kids playing football in the streets, the residents of Zugló are eager to welcome visitors into their community. And whether you're enjoying a fröccs at the Oazis Söröző or indulging in a slice of Sacher Torta, you'll find that the locals are always happy to share their favorite spots and insider tips.
So if you're looking for an adventure that's off the beaten path, I highly recommend a trip to Zugló. It may take a little effort to find, but trust me, it's well worth the journey. With its vibrant culture, stunning architecture, and friendly locals, Zugló is a hidden gem that is just waiting to be discovered.
