The G/Fore Gallivan2r Tuxedo Stripe might be one of the most stylish and well-built golf shoes I’ve tested — but it also repeats G/Fore’s biggest performance flaw. In today’s review, I test comfort, traction, stability, heel lock, walking experience, toe-box pressure, and long-term feel over a full round.
The Gallivan2r has a fantastic midsole design: firm yet forgiving, balanced, and great for walking. The curled heel portion helps you roll smoothly through each step, and the waterproof materials are top-tier. The base feels stable, the upper wraps the foot beautifully, and toe-box space is noticeably better than the MG4+ OG.
But… the heel instability returns. Add in fading insole comfort and mild pinky-toe pressure, and the shoe falls just short of the elite walking-golf category.
⛳ In This Video, I Test:
Slip-in comfort & first impressions
Toe-box improvement vs G/Fore MG4+
Upper feel, lockdown & tightening
Waterproof performance
Midsole breakdown (why it walks so well)
Pinky-toe rubbing test
Heel slip & ankle wiggle analysis
Long-walk comfort fade
Setup stability & swing influence
The G/Fore Gallivan2r Tuxedo Stripe delivers excellent materials, strong waterproofing, and a fantastic walking midsole, plus a noticeably better toe box. But the classic G/Fore weakness remains: heel slip, mild instability, and comfort that fades over time.
Comfort: 7.8/10
Performance: 7.7/10
A stylish, well-built shoe — but not the locked-in, high-performance experience many golfers want.
