On the 30th July 2024 at 20.27 HMS Queen Elizabeth returned to Portsmouth after repair and maintenence work in Scotland. During the ships harbour entrance which was being assisted by several tugs the rear (red) starbooard tug control cable, snapped. This is just visable at point 2.27/8 in the video. A splash in the water directly in front of the red tug can be seen. At that precise moment a load bang was heard, (not on this recording). She is now reunited with her sister ship HMS Prince of Wales at their base in Portsmouth Royal Naval Base.
