Discription from The Video- NARRATIVE OF WAGE REVISION
Entire work force of BSNL is upset and furious due to non-implementation of 3rd Wage
revision/3rd PRC. This Wage settlement in PSUs are based on the guide line issued by the depart-
ment of Public Enterprise, Now this department is under the control of Finance Ministry. There are
two wings of the wage review (i) Wage revision for non-executive employees (ii) Pay revision for
executive means officers at and above supervisory level. It is effected the employees upto board
level of the PSUs.
The Pay revision for officers (executives) is to be decided by the Department of Public Enter-
prise (DPE) and the decision of DPE is implemented in every PSU which comes under the perview
of DPE guideline. At present scenario the BSNL employees are fully dedicating themselves the
decision and policy of the government regarding financial revival of the company. He confirmed the house that BSNL earned a net
profit of Rs. 10,000 crore in the year 2004, but it become loss making only due to wrong
policy adopted by the earstwhile government. In the same company BSNL the government is
applying double standard for observed employees and non- observed high rank officers.
More painful like serpiginous is that in BSNL out of 30,000 (Thirty thousands) non executive
employees more than 10,000(Ten thousand) employees are facing stagnation hence they are not
getting annual increment even for 10 years and more. This situation can be removed only through
settlement and implementation of 3rd wage revision.
In addition to this Sri Manoj Sinha Jee Honorable Minister of State for Communications also
ordered that an institutional mechanism be put in place for periodic interaction between the staff
representative, BSNL and the relevant DOT officers for settlement of the issue.
