How to Ask for Seller Concessions (Credits) When Buying a House

Описание: When buying a house, seller concession may be a tool in your toolbelt that you didn’t know existed. If something comes up during the initial inspection, you may be able to negotiate with a seller to get some added repairs or closing costs covered. Why would a seller agree to do this? If they’re desperate, in a time crunch, or simply want the transaction to be done with, your request may be enough to get a seller to give you a bit more leeway on your way to the closing table.

But, as with any part of real estate negotiation, there is a right and wrong way to do this. Some overly-aggressive buyers like to come in guns blazing, asking sellers for everything under the sun. This usually turns a smooth closing into a non-existent one, as the seller could easily pick the next best buyer in line. To ensure that this doesn’t happen to you, we’ve brought on Mindy Jensen, host of the "BiggerPockets Money Podcast" and real estate agent in Colorado.
