Ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, seat-sharing negotiations between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Indian National Congress have sparked political chatter. Tamil Nadu Congress president K Selvaperunthagai said there is “no confusion” and described the talks as routine bargaining, adding that Chief Minister M K Stalin will consider the party’s demand for more seats. DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai also dismissed talk of discord, calling the alliance ideological and natural. Both parties accused the BJP and RSS of trying to create a wedge.
