This is the fourth time I met some friends at Southern Missouri Off-Road Ranch for some ‘wheeling. This is a group of mostly Jeeps from the ‘40s and ‘50s, with a couple newer Jeeps and my Bronco rounding out the group (not all vehicles were on all of the trails).
Moonshine started with a narrow twisty ditch that shows how sometimes a narrower vehicle has a big advantage (this was the worst vehicle damage I’ve had so far, a refrain that I unfortunately seem to be repeating all too often). Then there were a couple of options to start up the other side. Only Dale was able to make the extra credit line. Then we all worked our way up another narrow twisty ditch that gave some good opportunities to show the “Jeep Wave”, Bronco style!
Again, huge thanks to everyone who made this trip great! Especially to Brian, Alan and Fuzz who worked together to get me off that tree with minimal damage. And thanks Brian for some of the video.
My Bronco is a ‘71 with a carbed 302 V-8. It has an 8000 lb Warn winch on a receiver mount, NV3550 5 speed manual trans, Atlas transfer case with 4.3:1 low range, and 4.11 axle gears (71:1 crawl ratio). It has a 9” rear with a Detroit locker, a cut-and-turned high pinion Dana 44 front with an OX locker. I was running 33/12.50-15C BFG All-Terrain KO2 tires at 11 psi.
