This is a short video about the rare and hard-to-find VZ24 Mausers. These in the military configurations are very hard to find. The metal, fit, and finish on these actions are great.
Mine was made around 1929ish and in BRNO
It has 23." 23-inch barrel chamber in 30-06
sporter-style low comb stock that's some type of laminate
sporter style trigger
trap door magazine box
C "block" 2 serial number
I think I've only seen like 2, maybe 3 of these in my lifetime & in the military, chmabering and stock configuration. The K98 was basically built from this, and the only thing the Germans did was reproduce a new round due to the K98s had a shorter barrel length than the original Gewehr98s that were common in WW1.
The main difference between VZ24 and K98 in military configurations;
dual sling attachment points
The top guard was changed
Both have the 23"inch or so barrel
The K98 creation caused the Germans to produce the pointed spitzer round
and the K98 ultimately had a turn-down bolt handle
