Описание: From Hermann we continue to follow the Katy Trail, rising early to get as much riding in as we can before the temps make it impossible to ride. But the sweltering summer heat, while oppressive for riding, make everything feel lazy and chill, like a day of summer vacation as a kid. We make it to Augusta where we literally pass out from the heat before getting a B&B with– wait for it – a swimming pool! Talk about refreshing. In St. Charles we explore the historic old town and spend the afternoon trying to stay out of the heat. Then we proceed to the end of the Katy Trail in Machens and follow roads to the bridge over the Mississippi River, the unofficial line that divides west from east, and follow the Levee Trail to our hotel in Wood River. A new state, a new part of the country. Life is good.
