"This Land Is Your Land" is a classic song by the great American songwriter W. Guthrie, performed and celebrated in classrooms all across the United States. Written during the Great Depression, each verse slowly unveils more of the unease and uncertainty that prevailed during that time. As an educator I take responsibility for instilling the message that this land we live on is for all people to share, but will never actually belong to anyone.
